The Robert Johnson Blues Foundation will host its 3rd annual Music Festival on Saturday May 5th, 2007 in the birthplace of Robert Johnson, Hazlehurst Mississippi. Performing will be funk/soul artist Bobby Rush, blues artists Rory Block and Rocky Lawrence and 2006 Robert Johnson New Generation Award Winner Patrick Droney. The Robert Johnson Blues Foundation (501c.3) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to preserving the music and memory of Robert Johnson through art, education, competitions, and scholarships. providing emergency care to the needy in our communities and to aging artists. The foundation is also dedicated to the establishment of Heritage Houses in communities where they are needed. Through this program, the Robert Johnson Blues Foundation seeks to further youth development and to raise community awareness of cultural heritage.
