GERALD CRABB | THE CRABB FAMILY

One of the most successful names in Contemporary Christian Music, The Crabb Family grew from playing gospel music in a small Kentucky church to hosting an annual concert where they perform for more than 800,000 fans.

Patriarch Gerald Crabb is the founder and songwriter at the core of The Crabb Family. Born and raised in Kentucky, his childhood was divided between a difficult life in the Louisville ghetto and his grandmother's farm in Horse Branch. He switched back and forth between those towns, changing schools each time and endured poverty, his father's alcoholism, his parents' divorce and a dysfunctional family and lifestyle. By 18 he was married; by 24 he was divorced with four children of his own. He was broke, uneducated and now, himself, an alcoholic. Gerald met Kathy, a divorced mom of two, and together they helped refocus his goals. Gerald stopped drinking, found God, was saved and reborn and the couple were married. With a household of six children and a belief that Gerald's God-given musical talent was a blessing, the Crabb Family devoted their life to spreading their message.

Gerald Crabb's ministry teaches the Gospel through song, reaching millions of believers through their testimony. While their roots are mostly in the Southern Gospel tradition, the Crabb Family catalogue of songs employs a variety of genres and styles. The group is Grammy-nominated and Dove Award-winning, and have placed sixteen #1 songs at the top of the national radio charts. The family toured extensively and has performed at Carnegie Hall, The Grand Ole Opry , at state fairs and Contemporary Christian Music Festivals -- anywhere their family friendly, Christian themed music will draw a crowd. Yearly, they host a massive concert attended by more than 800,000 fans, spreading and sharing their beliefs.

Gerald and Kathy Crabb retired from touring but the six children chose to continue the Crabb Family tradition. Jason, Kelly, Adam, Aaron and Terah sang; Krystal ran the family office. In 2006, the kids decided to say farewell to the past and each venture out in pursuit of new challenges, but each choosing to continue the tradition and pursue separate ministries. The Crabb Family toured in 2007 as a final thank you to their fans. The last day as a group was August 1, 2007.
